David Cook - Season 7 American Idol!

I know I haven't shared my obsession with American Idol much here, but I just couldn't resist after last night.
It looked like such a clear cut case to so many that Archuleta was going to walk away with the title. But, to the surprise of most, David Cook became the new American Idol with an impressive 12 million vote lead!
Did you notice that Simon had to do his little apology before the results were given? I wonder if he might have had an inside tip of the winner. Hmmm...
I think Cook would've been just fine without winning. On the other hand, I'm not sure how well Archuleta will do without AI carrying him along. Still, I think Cook was the one who deserved to win. He has been my favorite for a while now. He definitely has the whole package going on. He is good looking, can sing anything and has an attractive confidence, yet humbleness to him. I mean, really, did you see the boy cry last night?
I look forward to hearing some Cook songs on the radio. I could listen to him all day long!

Yeah he is the whole package. This is one cd that I just might have to buy!

I agree about Archuleta, but maybe Cook will let him open for him. You know he is such a nice guy!

This was the first year that I sat down and watched American Idol...and I was hooked on David Cook from the get-go. I had never voted until the finale and I voted 20 times that (when I could get through). I sort of think that Simon knew if he was "hard" on David Cook it would rile up the masses...and that's exactly what happened. David Cook was amazing on the final show and Simon's comments were totally uncalled for...I really think he was using reverse psychology that night because he wanted Cook to win :)

Let me guess, this is your way of teaching music to your children. I must say, it seems very rigorous. What is your degree in again???

Oh, Concerned Educator... I was wondering if you'd ever come back with another ridiculous comment. I'm glad to see you have nothing better to do with your time. Please see the post that you apparently had nothing "cute" to say on.

Yep, I agree--I was going to be disappointed if the teeny bopper boy won--he seemed to to the same type of singing over and over, and often sappy slow type songs--Where as Cook--really seemed to expand and go in a variety of different directions and he has a this way about him, that seems more fitting of a true musician--perhaps it's his talent with the guitar??

He just seemed more professional and real and I too can't wait to him sing on the radio!
