Yes, we were one of those families yesterday. The movie "Prince Caspian" opened yesterday and I was there with my 4 kids, my parents, brother & sister-in-law and nephew for the first showing of the day. Luckily, the movie started on a Friday morning so there was only 1 other family in the theater.
My kids LOVED this movie!! We saw the first one last year . We all loved it and now own it. From the first advertisement my kids have seen of this one, they have been looking forward to it.
My parents own the entire collection of the Chronicles of Narnia and they often read the stories to their grandchildren. I remember well my dad reading these very same stories to me. I remember the imagination it ignited in us kids and the moral story it conveyed.
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was the first movie that I saw true emotion from my kids at a movie. They cried, they clapped and cheered, it was great! They also left the theater with an understanding of the underlying message. My then 5 year old said, "that's just like when Jesus died on the cross".
The nature of the movie is very intense which was my concern with the first and second movie. My children are very sensitive to movies and have had nightmares in the past. I was actually pleased that the second was even less graphic than the first. They were very careful to show all the battle scenes but to omit most of the actual killing.
What's more, my 3 year old stayed interested and not scared for the entire 2 hours and 20 minutes! He asked me questions every scene, but that was o.k. with me. He cheered on the lead characters through each dire moment.
This is a classic story and one that is very nostalgic for me. I give it a huge 2 thumbs up!!

Galen and I took Jackson to see it last night. We all loved it and I was also very happy that the violence was not gory (sp???). I hope they keep these movies coming!!
Jenn:)
Me and my daughter want to go see it.
hmmmm....very interesting. Johnny and I enjoyed Chronicles of Narnia although we were unsure whether to allow Jakob to see it. I am anxious to see this one now and am considering letting Jakob see it this go around. By the way, come check my blog out www.gabbysunday.blogspot.com I am back at it! Sun

Thanks for the review! We are hoping to see it at the drive-in this weekend when my sister comes to visit. I was concerned if the voilence was worse than the first - glad to hear it isn't.
How is everyone? We sure miss our WW family!

Cool!! My little ones have been asking me but I was nervous about the 3 year old. But after reading your post, I'm all game. :)
I've been waiting for this to come out! Not sure if we'll bring our 3 yr old just cause I don't know if she'll be willing to sit through it.
I thought I should just clarify 2 things.
First, all 4 of my children have seen the first movie and did fine (that's how I knew they would be fine with this one).
Second, my 3 year old is a boy. I think any of my girls would have been scared out of their skin at 3. Having a boy sure is different. He cheers during the fight scenes instead of hiding his head in my lap.
There, I just wanted to be sure I was giving an accurate review.
