Child Safe Computer

I have 4 small children at home and they love to play on the computer. So far, we have about 3 web sites they are allowed to go to that I feel comfortable with. However, as they get more independent on the computer and learn how to "surf" on their own, I start to get a little nervous.
I know the internet is so full of trash and things I never want my kids to see. I have been looking for ways to make our home have a kid safe web. What I really want is to get this parental control software. As thrifty and cheap as I am, this seems well worth the money to have the peace of mind that my child will only be allowed to "kid web sites". This software monitors every single thing your child does online (which makes it great when you have older kids as well - it monitors myspace and e-mails). They also offer a complete money-back guarantee.
Have you purchased any type of kid-friendly software? If so, what do you think? If you want to check out the one I have been looking at, just Click Here!

If you are not already using Firefox instead of IE, you should definitely use it. It has helped a lot in keeping out junk. I have a series on kids and computers on my site.

Heh. I know how hard it can be to try to keep a site absolutely safe for kids to view. Any links from it have to meet my ideals because I don't want some parent bailing me up in the classroom because Johnny's seen a bit of nasty.

We've got stuff like this running at school... and it's surprising how much stuff you can't get to! :)

I have a 14 year old and she is only allowed on certain websites. Do you have a firewall? You can block websites with them.
