A Good Excuse

The other day Jordan was whispering to his friend and I asked him what he was saying. He did that awkward look at his feet and didn't want to tell me. So, I asked him again. This time, he responds with, "I don't know. I don't remember." Ummm, yes you do! So, I ask him again (a little more stern). He starts to mumble something that I can't understand. Again, I ask him the same question. This time he comes up with,
"I don't know. I didn't hear myself."
Well, how I can argue with that logic? After regaining my composure and holding back the laughter, I finally did find out what he was whispering about. Strangely enough, it wasn't even anything bad. I don't know why he didn't want to tell me in the first place.

I think I might use that line a few times. If you don't hear yourself, just imagine what you can get away with!
