My Groceries for the Week

It was just another great week and I couldn't pass up showing you what I got. I had to break my order into 3 because I wanted to use those $5/25 Whole Foods coupons. I also had a rain check for those Barber Chicken bogos from last week. So, my orders looked like:
#1 Paid $11.34 and Saved $17.79 (Includes 8 boxes of Barber Chicken and 2 Vlasic Pickles)
#2 Paid $10.52 and Saved $33.95 (Includes 6 boxes of cereal, cheese, applesauce, oatmeal bars, eggs)
#3 Paid $3.99 (that's right, $3.99!!) and Saved $46.34!!! (Includes 4 boxes cereal, 4 jars of pickles, 1 grape juice, 5 applesauce, 2 butter)

So, altogether, I spent $25.85 and saved $98.08. Not bad! I got more than usual and only used half of my budget. It's gonna be a good week.

To see the deals for the week, check my post here.

When you break it into 3, do you just do three at the same time? They don't give you a hard time for this? Just curious, I've never tried it.

It depends on the location. Some I break it into 3. Some places let me put it altogether. They don't usually give me a hard time at all. In fact, they are usually very impressed and sometimes ask for my blog address :)

Ok, I have to know your secrets. I have 4 kids and live in Florida. I thought it couldn't be done here because none of the stores double coupons. I guess I am wrong. How do you get so many coupons? How do you organize them? Do you plan out the details of the orders before you go? How do you track the amounts on the orders at the store? I am guessing that the kids are not with you. I can't think when I have them all with me. Thanks!

t nash,

I get multiple coupons through the coupon clippers (there is a link on my home page). You have to order them the day that the sale ads come out to ensure that they come before the sale is over, but it is totally worth it.
I have 2 coupon organizers (1 for food and 1 for CVS).
I definitely plan out my trip before leaving the house. If I know how many of each item I am going to buy and which coupons I am going to use, I actually DO take my kids. I still find it easier to go without them, but it is way more possible than it used to be.
Feel free to e-mail me anytime if you have any more questions.

don't have a heart attack...i really didn't grocery shop the week before and i really am not going this week...so i'm still at my average.

So with the $5 off $25 whole foods coupon, the $25 didn't have to be before savings??? I used mine but made sure I got to $25 after coupons and savings and then stopped my order....your way looks better!

Flamingo Mama,

I think you are doing fabulous!

Lauren,

Oh ya! Those $/$$ coupons are always before any other coupons. Hand that one over first. Then, all the other coupons bring it down even lower. You do have to have a total of $25 before you can hand it over though.
