The Economy Hits Home

Well, we have been bracing ourselves for the effects of the economy on our family. My husband works in construction management, and the job he has been working on for 1 1/2 years was supposed to continue another 2 years. Unfortunately, the project was changed and cut to end in the next couple of weeks.
Cory loves the company for which he has been working. Not only are they a company with ethics and morals, but the owners are friends of ours.
They have been looking for any more jobs for a while now, and as you might guess, nothing has come up. So, this means that Cory is in the process of looking for a new job.
Again, being in the construction industry is not the best market for job hunting right now, but we are trusting that God is going to do something great. He may not provide in exactly the way we would like Him to or in our timing. But, He will provide. We have walked this road before and have been amazed at the way He chooses to take care of us.
It's not a fun lesson of trust, or an easy one for that matter. But...
I have noticed already how God is using this experience in my life to remind me of everything we have and how spoiled I am to live in America. It also has brought me to a better understanding of how much I need my God and how lazy I have been in my relationship with Him. It's so easy to take things for granted when everything is going well and easy. We are reluctantly thankful for this opportunity to learn in the tough times as well.

I will be praying for your family. It's amazing how we evalutate our relationship w/our savior in times of adversity and trials, and realize how much of the time we have been surviving (barely) on our own strength. I love that song from Mercy Me-Jesus bring the rain. He sings "If that's what it takes to praise you, Jesus bring the rain." What I would love is to walk with HIM daily, regardless of my circumstance for each and every day! Let me know if you need anything.

It is very tough. My sister and brother in law were both layed off within two weeks of each other. Now neither of them are employed. luckily she is a planner and had all their christmas shopping for my nieces all done. He was in construction as well! It is a scary time, but we serve a BIG God!! Thanks for the reminder and lessons!

Hey sweet friend, I will pray for you guys.
I know all about the construction industry, that is what my father has done all my life. And with the current state of the economy, they have hit some pretty hard times. But their is still work that needs to be done! I know God will provide for them and for you. I can't wait to see you soon! Love you! Jen

I am sorry to hear that. But I will be praying for you guys! It's such a difficult time right now and think we are all having to trust God more. I know I am overcome with the fears of what could happen at times but God is bigger than it all and he gives us exactly what He knows we need.
